Frizzy Pants

Thanks for all the tips....I was thinking if I had them cut I would leave them short....but I really prefer the longer hair on the back end. I forwarded this thread to my friend....she likes them cut back....I guess she doesn't see the back end like I do.....

My sable female has always had quite frizzy drawers.. I just used the CC products for the first time last week, which included a conditioner. I could tell a difference as soon as I started rinsing the conditioner out. A lot smoother, softer and manageable. Highly recommend!

I agree with everyone else leave it!!! Our Aussie had the same hair and my mom's Rough Collie did too I think it's normal in the collie breeds. I use Ice on Ice leave in detalngler and finishing spray (it also has sunscreen) it's made by Chris Christensen and it works really well to keep the frizz down.

I also use this on my shelties I love it!!!! Not that exspensive either. You can a gallon and deluit it or by it already deluited. I like the shampoos as well. I use black on black on my guys and they look amazing.

I also agree with not cutting them. I work at a vet/grooming shop and I won't even have the groomer there do my dogs lol. They go to the breeder who grooms them basically a wash brushout she trims the ears and the feet that is it.

Most groomers in grooming shops are taught "pet" grooming where alot of people just want the least amount of hair as possible. Alot of the shelties we see the owners want the feathering and everything trimmed short.

That's exactly right and exactly the problem with most groomers! Something went wrong with thier education.

I personally think fuzzy butts are one of the endearing looks on a sheltie. Heck I have a professional fuzzy butt photo framed on my dining room wall, talk about cute.

One way to keep the frizz down a bit is to use a stiff Boar Bristle brush on the pants. It makes a huge difference - adds a bit of sleekness and takes some of the frizz out.

There are fat pants like Indy has and then there are disaster pants like Bacca has.

Indy escaped the evil groomer and the razor so managed to keep most of his guard hair over his pants. It's now been AGES and Bacca's guard has not grown back. He has a rumpled butt all the time, now matter how often I brush him. It's frankly just awful

There is NOTHING cute about it.
