Glueing ears- instructions

At what age will the ears be past the point of worry? Like, they won't go up if they haven't by . . . 9 months? Year?

got the wig glue at Sally's beauty supply- what I used on Cranberry and Jocu before switching to Japanese tape (which is available on the Wickets by Mel website)

We keep ears braced until the first birthday. Longer, if they show signs of coming up when they're out.

I found Tear Mender at Ace Hardware, but I also saw some a JoAnn Fabric a couple of weeks ago. I use Detachol or MediSol to remove the glue.

So I glued Callan's ears at 16 weeks. They were starting to fly. Up one day, down the next.

After one week I decided for sure that I had glued the ears too low so I took the glue out. A week later(now 18 weeks) his ears are still bent over like a hounds ears though set high on his head. They flop right over his eyes but too low.

I really have decided I don't want to glue anymore but am curious as to whether after one week of gluing too low, can I expect his ears to fly again! It's just weird that they have stayed low all week after I removed the glue. I am now actually hoping they start to prick! Surely one week of gluing could not have ruined his ears? :(

If you dont get them "up" they are going to become hound ears. Once that break is in that spot it wont correct. Hound ears are VERY difficult if not impossible to correct.

Ok, how do I fix now? I can't believe that one week of gluing could have done this....especially when I read over and over that we glue for months to get prick ears to tip? He is 18 weeks today and just starting to teeth. How could a single week make a difference?

Before I glued his ears were alternately flying one up, one down.

Help! :confused2::eek2:

You need to get them put up ASAP with the middle braced up and the ear tipped at the right height like they would be done normally. The key is to get them held in the right position all the time.

Looking at his pictures before his ears were wide(before you braced them) so the tendency was there. The glueing of the ears low without bracing them up high enough in the middle actually caused them to move wider and break low. It is not the tip of the ear that causes the hound ears it is the wide ear position and the position on the side of the head. The only hope is glue or brace them up in the correct position now, do not delay. Now that they are starting to break hound gravity is at work.
