Hi

I just switched 2 of my shelties to Go ! salmon dog food, the ingredients looks good, the protein and the fat is low.
Due to one of my shelie have corneal dystophy and the vet suggested him that his basic food do not contain poultry and no chicken fat in his food, so I chose Go! pet food.
But I searched in the internet and this dog food had recalled in 2003 and caused kidney problem for the dog.
so I think I have to find another good dog food. It's really hard to find a premium dog food, then I search natural science on the web, I thought it is also a good dog food but unfortunately I also found out that one of the product also recall this year.
Anyone feeding Fromm here? this product seems good and no recall record, but the fat seems not low?
Any suggestion of a premium dog food that is low fat and low protein with no poultry and chicken fat?

I don't know anything about Fromm or Go! Just that they are supposedly good foods. I did not hear anything about the Go! recall.

I can just tell you that we switched recently to Taste of the Wild, Sierra Mountain formula. Protein is not too high (26%) as opposed to some of the other TOTW flavors. It does not have any poultry or chicken (I checked because one of our dogs cannot eat chicken). It has 15% fat.

we do have a member (SheltieGuy) that feeds Fromm- I'm pretty sure from his posts that he has been very happy with it.

I feed Go! Duck formula and have for more than a year with great success for my epi dog, Pixie. My vet feeds his dogs the same thing and recommends it highly. I can't imagine you'd have a problem with it at this point. I've never heard about a recall.

Fromm is a good brand. Stitch was just on TOTW. I alternate her kibbles from Innova EVO and TOTW. Both brand has kibbles that don't have chicken.

Petcurean is the company who makes GO! and Now! dog food. They did have a recall in 2003. Dogs and cats in California became very sick. I think they had liver disease and some passed away.

When I was considering feeding Go!, I contacted Petcurean and they told me because of the recall, they stopped using a manufacturing plant in the US and only use their own plant in Canada.

I've been feeding my pups Now! for about 8 months or so. No issues. I was not aware that they had a recall of Go! in 2003, but it looks like they have corrected the situation by controlling the plants that produce the food, rather than outsource.

I think is a viable option for you still.
