Goodbye to my Ladybug...

Little Ladybug. Run free and happy at The Bridge. I can only echo what others have said. Your post brought tears to my eyes. All praise to you for what you did for Ladybug.

So sorry for your loss Chris. No matter how prepared we think we are, it always hurts to lose a fur kid, just as it does to lose any other member of the family.

Thank you so much for making such a huge effort to make her last days wonderful, even though she may not have known how to express it, I'm sure she loved you beyond measure and is eternally grateful for you rescuing her.

I can't say more than what has already been said, so all I'll say is, "God Bless You for the love you gave to her." I know God has already Blessed her!

Thank you so much for taking her in! I'm sure she was very content those last 2 years. We fostered a female breeder from a puppy mill for over a month and it was truly heartbreaking. I'm so happy you were able to give your girl a happy relaxed ending. Thank you again :smile2:

Dear St. Francis,

Were you surprised when you saw how happy and beautiful Ladybug looked! That's because she spent the last years of her life being treasured and loved. She's already had a taste of heaven -- now, please, comfort her family and help her celebrate all that being a Sheltie can be!
In His name we ask,
Amen

Beautiful, comforting prayer, Chris. You said it well. Thank you.

I am so very sorry to hear of your loss of Ladybug.

My heart and prayers go out to you.

It is wonderful to know she had you in the last years of her life. She was able to experience love, joy and peace.

, wow that is a beautiful tribute to such a special dog! I am so glad she was able to live her last two years enjoying what real pet life is supposed to be!

God Bless you and your family during these difficult days of remembrance and love.

So sorry for your loss. You did a beautiful thing adopting her and giving her at least a good ending to an otherwise tedious life. Saying goodbye is NEVER easy. I know. We put down our first three Shelties one year apart. One had Cushing's that became out of control, one had renal failure, and another had heart failure. Take some time to grieve and then get another Sheltie that will make you smile again.

RIP sweet Ladybug. And thank you for all you have done. I know it is a very difficult time, I lost my sweet Charlie this October. Hopefully you will find a place in your heart for another Sheltie, it won't replace Ladybug, but it will fill a place in your heart for a Sheltie. Once again, we cannot thank you enough for your kindness to bring in Ladybug, and she thanks you for giving her the best 2 years of her life. Prayers sent in your direction.

Thanks so much everyone...I'm so touched by all of your replies. Lady was special to me in a way not many people would understand.

I'm sure I'll get another sheltie one of these days! Right now I still have Murphy, who is just a barrel of fun, but it would be nice for him to have a playmate. (Although he never seems to tire of herding the cats....) Like they say though....shelties ARE like potato chips!

Again, thank you all for your support. Give your pups a hug from me!

-Chris
