Took Max to doctor, he was throwing up last night. He had a good exam and looks food, doesn't really think it's pancreas, we talked about food and she said the important thing is low fat, but with his lergist and yeast issues it must be grain free. The lowest I could find was Wellness Core low fat! Anyone tried this?? It looks good to me, right now he is getting tilapia!!! Because I stil think it's his pancreas and we have nausea pill to help!! But I really can't afford to keep cooking, unfortunetly!!!

The Wellness Core Reduced Diet is not low protein though.
I tend to agree with Mitchy for a grain-free, moderate fat, moderate protein diet, Natural Balance has some options. I'm considering them myself for Bacca. I'm also considering home cooked....

I will look at natural balance because I really don't want to keep cooking. Between cooking and beans and kale I'm always cooking or using the food processor which is heavy to keep lifting to get out!!, I want what's best for Max but I need something good for me now too. My rheumatoid arthritis makes it so hard? Duh hate getting old!!,

I hear you.....I have to look at home cooking for Bacca because of his liver....I'm in avoidance and post-poning the decision. I really don't like the option of ongoing home cooked forever. But I probably don't have a choice here.

I just switched Sammy from Acana "Puppy and Junior Formula" to Natural Balance "Alpha Chicken, Turkey Meal & Duck Dry Dog Formula".
I wanted to try another brand besides Acana, since they have recently increased their prices. The Natural Balance is $2 cheaper for a 5lbs bag, I wanted to get a small bag to try it out first. While I don't have long term result to report, Sammy has no trouble switching to this new food immediately. Her poop is in good form, in fact I'd say better than when she was on Acana (which generated poop on the soft side). I feel the 32% protein of the Acana Puppy is a little on the high side.
Many stores that sell Natural Balance products do not have this line of food, I'd really want to try out the "Alpha Trout, Salmon Meal & Whitefish Dry Dog Formula" next, which has a little more Omega3.

This sounds like a great option with the lower protein and grain-free besides.
I would consider it if Max were mine.
