In this post, you only asked specifically about grooming, so I won't go into any other puppy care.
When you bring your pup home.....
When you cuddle with your pup play with the paws and ears every time. You want the pup to get used to being handled.
For brushing, as long as the brush you is gentle, and you use a gentle touch, just stroking in across the pup, turning the pup onto his back and getting used to being on his back while you gently swipe is a good start.
For Nails....again....start by holding the dogs paws one at a time and applying pressure to gently push the nails out. At this point, you don't need dog nail clippers. Cat scissors or even human nail scissors (round tip) will do the job. You are really only just trying to get the dog used to being handled.
Once your dog has had 2nd vaccinations, I would recommend finding a groomer that does Puppy Intro to Grooming. Usually that means a bath and blow dry, and trimming of nails and feet. At my store, at Intro's we ask the owner be there with the puppy.
The earlier you get your dog used to other people handling him, the easier it will be for future groomings.
If you plan to groom yourself, same principles. Hope this helps!
