Hairy like a sasquatch

Blowing their coat

I have 2 shelties - one with a longer smoother coat (he is 12 months old) and the other with a very thick fluffy undercoat, which makes him look overweight (he isn't - he is 10 months old). We are relatively new sheltie owners and I love reading all your suggestions. Anyway, our older one is shedding a lot but our fluffy one isn't shedding yet. Do all shelties blow their coats the same time? How long does this last?
When I brush them, I get so much hair that I get nervous that they won't have any left! :smile2:

thanks!

The pet dryer I use is the Metro AFTD-3 Commander 2-speed . It has a 4.0 HP motor. I purchased mine off e-bay brand new. :yes:It's one of the best things I've purchased.

They will not blow their coats at the same time which sucks! I have three girls all with very different coats. Two are sleeker and don't have such a dense undercoat. The third is how you are describing your 10 month old, thick, dense under coat that does not shed on it's own and makes her look huge! I have to brush her to get the undercoat out. Oh and don't worry, they will have hair left! Hope this answers your questions.

thanks Maguiregirls! shedding or not, these dogs are great! they make us laugh and have such great personalities. I can certainly understand why you can't just have one! :biggrin2:
