Halloween costume ideas?

Do you all dress your Sheltie up for Halloween? Bear loves to wear this little shirt I got him, so I wanna dress him up for Halloween. I might even take him trick or treating! Lol ;)

We got Beignet a prisoner outfit so she can be Sirius Black and the Mrs. and I will be Harry Potter/Hermione Granger.

We are dressing Edan and CJ up for a costume contest at an agility trial the weekend before Halloween. We purchased Pirate costumes for both of them from Petco. (This is Edan's & this is CJ's) What I really like about them is they go on like a cape/blanket/Thundershirt - a strip of velcro under the body and a strip of velcro around the chest.

Just be warned, dressing up the Sheltie's without proper compensation will open you up to a SUBU* complaint. If the costume is too froo froo, the dogs may still lodge a complaint.

I'm at least safe from a SUBU with CJ. She's thrilled to be a rough and tough Pirate rather than some froo froo ballerina or mermaid.

This year, Olive's going to be a member of my college marching band, I'm wearing the summer/rally uniform, and her corgi buddy is going to be a football player (think her owner is going to be wearing the summer/rally uniform as well.) It fits since Olive is the calm, collected one and the corgi is a bit more go-for-the-face.

Sherlock Holmes and Watson/Moriarty may be in the books for next year.

My daughters as well as Bella are all going as prisoners and I am going as a cop. I got the prisoner outfit at target for about $7. It is simple and is tshirt material. It says Bad Dog across the back

Tough one for me here.

I'm the Halloween Grinch! I really hate it! I'm one of those people who would rather turn off the lights and pretend I'm not home.

But now that I'm a pet store owner, I have this lovely display of pet costumes......I feel like such a hypocrite! :gaah

All I can say is...if you love Halloween go for it! The SUBU might have a few words with you about ensuring that you reward your pet appropriately though.

btw. here is a picture of my store cat modelling the elf costume.....if looks could killl....

Don't worry Barb, I'm not a fan of Halloween either. Mostly because I'm a big scaredy cat and hate all the scary stuff that comes out for Halloween. That being said, I think the most Missy will be wearing will be a bandana.

Shelby will be a skeleton again this year. We have always dressed our pups up. The kids look forward to seeing her and she just loves wearing her costume.

Olive gets a reasonably sized cookie after each fitting, she gets very excited :biggrin2:
