We are also new here,and anxiously awaiting bring home our first sheltie pup.Our Trapp will be coming from a litter born recently to one of Janet's shelties.(Granite) her forum username.So we are excited!
So sorry to hear of the recent loss of your Sheba.It is never easy,for sure.Sounds as though Maggie has had a tough time of it,but glad she is so much better.Looking forward to pictures!

Welcome 
Thank you everybody for the warm welcome. The cat "Sammy" is now tolerating Maggie more and has given her a few hisses and has smacked her a couple times but didn't put his claws in her. Maggie has fully recovered from her Parvo and is growing like crazy. She is 13 weeks now and knows her name, sits, comes, shakes and are working on down. I have never had a dog that was such a quick learner before; she had "sit" figured out in about 10 minutes. Maggie is only using the puppy pads at night now and has not had any accidents for about 2 weeks. During the day she only goes to the bathroom outside, but she is outside most of the day so that could also just be playing the percentages.
"Pocket rocket” that is a great term and pretty well describes Maggie. Next week we are going to try to start socializing Maggie with some dogs, I have my eye on a friends Australian Shepherd. I'll ask my questions about socializing in the behavior section though.

I can't wait to see pictures of the little girl. It is wonderful that he healed up from Parvo. I know it was a scary time.
And yes, the cats like to pretend to be aloof. Stanli is the one that give us trouble last year when we brought Pierre home. She would hiss and hide. It went on for a month and she came out out from under the bed to just look at the tiny fluffball that was Pierre. She smacked him a few times and in dog fashion, he played back! If she was aggressive, he would roll over on his back in submission which is cat talk for aggression. They don't really understand each other today - but one thing is for certain. Pierre is in love with her! He's will follow her around for hours, always giving her a few feet of breathing room. His patience has paid off because when she's in a really good mood, she will snuggle him secretly. Unless someone is looking.
Wonder how she'll take to Duncan... We will see!
Good luck with Maggie. She sounds very bright and like a good fit for the family.
