Hello to all of you Sheltie lovers! I recently found this site and think it's great! I've loved Shelties for almost 30 years. They are such special dogs... once you've loved one, they will always hold a special place in your heart. Our current Sheltie is Kyra, a tri-color 6-yr-old sweetheart that we got from the Mid-AZ Sheltie Rescue Group about 6 months ago. Kyra was found in a puppy mill (along with 36 other Shelties) one year ago. It took some time for her to get comfortable with us, but she is now a very happy & playful little girl. We just adore her!

I'm happy to have found this new connection to other Sheltie people!

Hello and welcome! I'm glad you gave Kyra a loving home. Poor thing must have had it really rough. I just don't understand puppy mills.

Welcome Kathe and Kyra !!

First of all Thank you for taking Kyra in and giving her a great forever home.:wink2: We have another member who is a Sheltie rescue right there in Arizona. She has many lovely Shelties and is a God send to the Breed. Even though she is not in the best of health she gives all of those rescued Shelties tons of love affection and care they need and enjoy. Rescue people are Gods Angels to the animal world !:biggrin2:
So again welcome and enjoy the forum and we all look forward to seeing pictures of Kyra.

Welcome to the Forum, Kathy. And thank you for opening your heart and home to Kyra. I hesitate to think of what your girl must have gone through in the years before you found each other. But that is in the past and she has nothing but love and caring people in her new life.

Welcome, Kathy and Kyra. I'm new to shelties, with my 10+ mo old sable, Snap. I'm grateful to have lots of experienced people like you on this forum.

A big welcome from Sophie, Emmie, Oskar and I. I have great respect for those who take in rescues. Although I bet no one can say thank you enough except for Kyra. We look forward to seeing what Kyra looks like and welcome to a great forum.

Welcome Kathy and Kyra! I wish we were in a world that didn't need families to rescue shelties; but we are....and so I'm glad that you do participate in rescue. Of my 4 adult shelties one is a rescue and I would like to wish boils on the backside to the previous owners of my precious little princess Sasha.

GRRRRRRRRR!
