Hi all.
I have a new pup to introduce! Teddy (Agile's Somebody to Love). Teddy is now 22 weeks old and a cool looking blue merle. He is sired by Ch. Pattoo's Plan B and out of Ch. Conspirito's Jitterbug, CD, RA, CGN. Bred by Agile Shelties in Chilliwack BC.
He is the first Sheltie my hubby and I have had, although I have had other herding breeds over my lifetime (GSD, Mal, Collie X). Our last 2 dogs were Dobes and I competed in obedience with them, and dabbled in agility with one. When our last Dobe passed last summer we decided not to go with the same breed, as we would like something a bit smaller now. Teddy was bought with the intention of being a pet, obedience/agility prospect for me, and buddy for our Shar-pei. So far so good!
(The 2 cats are slowing warming up to him as well).
Teddy is going to be a big boy when finished growing, at 22 weeks he is 16 inches and 28 lbs, and not fat. Thats completely fine with me as I am used to larger dogs anyway, and since the Shar-pei is about 45 lbs it evens up the play well. He has a very outgoing, bold and confident personality and is so fast to learn new things. I have always loved Shelties and am glad that I finally have one. I know I will have fun with him in competition!
He is a blast to train. He has done his Puppy K class now and was well ahead of all the other pups as I started teaching his obedience exercises using a clicker as soon as I got him at 12 weeks, plus the breeder did a lot of pre-conditioning with the clicker. We are also enrolled in competition ob classes (pre-novice) in 3 weeks with one of the top trainers in western Canada (Janice Gunn, TNT kennels). I am looking forward to also training in agility and possibly herding in the future with him. Betty

they are JUST so sweet and quirky, funny... and smart... plus the best looking, of course
