Just wanted to introduce myself! I'm a first time sheltie owner but my husband grew up with Shelties. We have an adorable 5 month sable-Merle named Frankie Gumball. Yup- our kids had a little something to do with his name. Lol.
House training him was easy, and me doesn't bark inside the house or on walks. I'm sure that makes our neighbors happy. He's a great dog and I'm so proud of how well he has acclimated to our zesty family of 6!
I promise I will post pictures of him once I get a photobucket going.
I have one question, though- he's already 14 inches tall. My husband says he won't get much bigger, but considering he's only 5 months, he still has so,a more growing to do right? I'm thinking he might get to be 16 inches tall....thoughts?

Thank you and glad to be here!

Welcome! We're all looking forward to your pictures :biggrin2:. As far as your size question, you can look at the size chart on this website http://bowlingsite.mcf.com/size/size.html and kinda take a guestimate and where he will end up. Of course, Shelties can be unpredictable at times as far as size. They might be looking like they will stay in size for a long time and then all the sudden they have a growth spurt- boom, over 16". I'm not sure how old he is in weeks or what his weight is, but he might end up around 16" like you're thinking. I definitely don't think he's done growing at 5 months!

Hello and welcome! The chart listed above would probably be best guess.

My Angus kept growing until just over 12 months.....but he is still a shrimp!

Welcome to Sheltie Nation!

I live in Olathe, and am allowed to share my home with 4 Shelties and Lhasa mix. I also volunteer with KC Sheltie Rescue.

You should bring your pup by sometime at one of our adoption events - would love to meet both of you.

Debbie

Frankie is a cutie:yes:

my newest pup is a biblue also with a wide white blaze and still mostly pink nose and I've been told that is part of why the nose is still pink but that it will eventually be all black.

Welcome to Sheltie Nation, what a little love your Frankie is. It will be fun watching him grow and hearing about all his antics. You're in for many years of a whole lot of fun.
