He was chained to a porch when he was rescued and very badly matted. They had to shave him almost right to the skin. It's growing back nicely tho. Hopefully it won't take too long to get back.

I've been feeding him Innova. his skin looks fine which puzzles me why the itching.
 
I'm sure he's very happy that you brought him to your home. He was found chained and matted. Shame on the previous owners.

It may take a while to get the old food reactions out of his system. It may be that he is also itching because the new hair is growing back. Maybe when they shaved him they kind of irritated his skin. You might also check on getting a doggy spray conditioner. Or maybe trying a little unscented lotion on an area and see if that helps the itch.

In any case, glad to welcome you and Dylan. And especially glad to see Dylan has finally found a good home.
 
Hello and welcome! Dylan is a very, very lucky boy. You will love having a sheltie.They are just the best (not like I am biased or anything :winkgrin:) This forum is wonderful, I am sure you will love it here!
 
Good for you to have rescued him! It always amazes my why people must own dogs then just chain them up and don't give them any attention or take care of them.

You can tell from the picture of him laying on your couch that he has made himself right at home!! He's a very handsome boy!! :)
