I'm Daniel and i've had shelties for about forty years.I'm married fifty years to a gal named Brenda.My fourth sheltie passed away Sept.08 this year,had pancreatic cancer.Been hard with the loss of lucky at ten years old.Been real hard on me with this one,his spirit is with me in everywhere i go because he was always there all of the time.
Third one(Prince)lived to a ripe old age of seventeen.One positive is now I've got a six month old female,her names Dolly(spunky).I used to do obedience training but i've retired due to health.And i've trained dogs of all breeds and i'll put up a sheltie against anyones dog in smartness and picking up on words as they go a long.Well thats all i guess for now,hope every body on Sheltie Nation has a Happy New Year.
 
Hello and welcome, Daniel. I'm so sorry to hear about your losing Lucky -- I know how it is to have them get into your heart and soul. I agree -- they're amazing little furpeople -- I actually have a hard time calling them dogs. I sure hope you stay with us here at Sheltie Nation. I think you must have lots of wisdom to share and advice we can use! :yes:

Great, we can always use more helpful advice. I am sorry to hear about your loss of Lucky. I lost my first sheltie, my first ever dog, to lymphoma this past June.

Welcome to the group! I don't think I can say anything more than what the girls have already said! I'm sorry for your loss of Lucky as well. Please do share all the advice that you have with us - you must have a ton! Happy New Year to you and your family as well!
 
Welcome, Daniel. Thank you for sharing the photos of Dolly and, of course, your beloved Sheltie Angel, Lucky. I'm sure we all agree with you about how amazingly smart our Shelties are. (Sometimes too smart!!:rolleyes2:) We look forward to your contributions to this Forum.
 
Hey All

Thanks all for the replies to my post, I fill I'm with family when discussing Shelties.I've posted Prince's photo in my profile,he's the one that passed away in 1998 at sixteen or seventeen. He would go out and get my morning paper and the mailman would give him my mail to bring in. When he passed away he was both blind and deaf.
 
Daniel, your pictures are wonderful. I can just see why you miss Prince so much -- he's so regal!
