Hello from PA!!

Hi fellow Sheltie owners!

My name is Julie and my dh and I are a family of 4 boys and 2 Shelties. We lost our 12 year old black lab, Shadow in Oct. of 2010 and missed having a dog so much.....4 months later we fell in love with our male Sheltie, Champ and when we went back the next day to take him home we ended up falling in love with his sister, Lucy too! Champ and Lucy turned 1 on Dec. 14th and it has been quite a year (almost). We've definitely had our challenges raising two pups at the same time, but they give us so much joy and so much laughter each day. I look forward to getting to know everyone on here and also hope to find some support with the daily challenges of raising 2 pups the same age!

I quickly put together an album on photobucket so I could share some pictures of our two cuties! Pictures range from 10 weeks to 1 year old. Hopefully I did everything right and the link works!!

Welcome to the Sheltie Nation! It is great to have you join us. Thanks also for sharing pictures right from the start. That would be the first question to you......please post pictures!

Lovely pups, (both skin and fur!). Welcome to the Forum. Is lucy smaller than Champ? Thanks for the great pics.
 
A warm welcome! Where in PA are you located? My sis-in-law lives in Lancaster, works in York, and my mother-in-law lives in Shrewsbury.

Loved all the pics of Champ and Lucy. Thanks for sharing. They look like would be a handful, but then again we have THREE shelties (ages 2, 4 and 6) so we know what chaos looks like...lol.

I have an album called Sheltie Trio on the site, which is accessible via the Community link near the top of the page. It contains pics of our previous three Shelties as well as our current trio.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome! I haven't had much time to be on here yet but I'm sure I will have plenty of questions to pick your brains with!!

David - Yes, Lucy is smaller than Champ she always has been a little more petite. :smile2: ....she's shorter and a bit lighter.

Lovemyshelties - We are between Lancaster and Reading so I guess we are almost neighbors to your sister- in-law.

It is great to hear that others have adopted sibling puppies. From what I read on the Internet we are totally crazy!! Some days I do think we are crazy but mostly it has just been a lot of fun! The thing we've found to be the hardest is the training.....we had a trainer come to our house for two sessions and were totally disappointed with her methods of training so we've tried some things on our own but the pups still need lots of work!
