I am wondering if my pure bred sheltie, Prince Laddie, is one of the largest ever recorded. He weighs 67 pounds, not overweight very slender, and stands from shoulders down a whopping 24 inches. His sister and parents are all around 18 to 22 lbs. He is just over 4 years old and beautiful. The only health issue he has is his eyes are not producing tears very much and we have to use drops everyday.

Wow, he's officially the biggest Sheltie we've had on the forum. We've had a few 21" but Prince definitely takes the lead. Bet he gets mistaken for a Collie all the time.

The biggest sheltie I had was my Prince, a blue merle. His top weight was 46 pounds, but he was a big eater and somewhat overweight. I managed to get and keep him at about 40 pounds. His "cousin" (a pup of one of Prince's litter mates) is about 27 - 30 pounds as is another blue merle that owns me. My newest sable (about a year old) is much smaller at 18 pounds.

Baron (avatar photo) was about 19 inches tall and weighed 33 lbs at his heaviest, which was just about right for his size (for a good part of his life he weighed 25-30 lbs and looked like an emaciated street dog when wet). I've only seen one other Sheltie in the flesh that was larger than he was, and that was a female.
