I'm Stewart and just got my Sheltie puppy 2 weeks ago. His name is Chewie and he is 14 weeks old. He's a smart boy and he has a big family here. I have two stepdaughters (teenager and early 20's), and wife.
Chewie has animal friends in the house in the form of 2 red eared slider turtles, and 3 cats. 1 of the cats (Figaro) is about a year and a half old and is still a little skeptical of the loud fast furry bundle of energy that is Chewie. His other two male cat brothers are litter mates (Toulouse and Berlioz), and are just over a year old. They get along well, but one of them in particular simply adores Chewie. They play, wrestle, chase and just plain lounge together. Toulouse really seems to adore Chewie. He never hisses at him, plays whenever Chewie is up for it, lets Chewie gnaw on his ears sometimes and last night Chewie gave Toulouse about a 5 minute face bath, just licking him nonstop and the cat laid on his back, arms and legs spread out, and just soaked up the attention from Chewie.
Remarkably too, none of the cats have gotten competitive or jealous, but they have all become much more affectionate since Chewie's arrival. Pictures and updates will follow, but I wanted to get registered and say hello.
