Help! Lots of Blood in Urine-w/Pics

Crouton

I'm really freaking out I took Crouton to the dog park today and when she peed all the dogs crowded around sniffing so I took notice anyway, there was some yellow urine but there was an inordinate amount of dark blood inside I took her to the vet right away and they did a urinalysis and are going to do urine culture. They put her on 125 mg Clavamox as an antibiotic. The vet said that there seems to be too much blood for a UTI. They will call me tomorrow with the results but I took her out to pee tonight and got her pee in a ziplock bag. It looks like dark brown blood.

She has been eating drinking and acting normally with no diarrhea and a some bile vomit about 3 days ago, but could be unrelated. Any sort of advice is appreciated.

Thanks for your prayers Mally's mom and they may have worked because I took her to go pee again just now and I stuck a paper towel under her and there was no blood in her urine. I'm just anticipating the call from the doctor.

In the meantime I'm flavoring her water with some chicken broth I made, because she really doesn't drink enough water. Also I don't know that it's a UTI because she hasn't been whining to go pee constantly.

I have no advice....I am sorry.

I will keep her in my prayers that the vet can get you a diagnosis today. I do believe it is good news that her condition is improving, so the antibiotic must be doing something good.

Getting her to drink more is a fantastic idea. Anytime there is an infection in their system you are going to want to flush it out.

That is a scary amount of blood and you did the right thing by getting her to the vet right away. I'm so glad there was no blood in her urine on her last potty break.

I hope it is nothing serious and is easily treatable. Please, keep us updated.

You are very welcome regarding the prayers for Crouton. Glad to hear her next pee had no blood. (smart idea to put the paper towel under to catch and check the urine.) You and Crouton will continue to be in my prayers. Please continue to update. Thanks.

I'm adding my thoughts to the others' and hope that Crouton gets better ASAP. Please let us know how she's doing.
