I'm actually getting my sheltie on Jan 16th. (I'll post a pic later) I have family visiting from out of state, and felt between an additional 6 people in house + their dog, in addition to my mom, my own dog, two cats, and the bird, would be a bit too much stress, so I opted to wait.

I currently have a 9 y.o. tri-pod terrier mutt (looks just like Wishbone, but long wire-hair, and about half again in size), a red tabby (age: 6 yrs) and black cat (age: 5 yrs), and a zebra finch (age: 1 yr).

My sheltie is a little tri-colored 8 month old girl, named Lady, which I'm really excited about bringing home. I'm going to work on obedience with her, (though Shelties are really smart), I want to utilize her in animal assisted therapy with Delta Society when I get my Masters in Counseling, and until then, volunteer.
 
Welcome Amber! Oh such an exciting time waiting for your new sheltie to come home. I remember how we felt,counting the weeks,almost were bursting with excitement

Yes we'll need pictures,all of us are beggers,we whine,till we see picture! you'll love it here,glad to have you and looking forward to hearing all about your fur babes.

Welcome Amber! I am sure Lady will excell as a therapy dog - shelties as a general rule are very sensitive dogs. Cannot wait to hear all about her adventures and pictures please!!!
