Hey everybody! I don't know why I haven't joined a Sheltie forum before because I have owned and loved shelties for over 20 years. Right now I have a year old guy named Archie who is an absolute nut and LOVE. He is incredibly smart to the point where we sometimes have to spell out the words like cat, ball, eat  I live with my husb and college age son on a mini farm. We have a flock of ducks, which of course Archie loves to herd.. and does help me put them away every evening. When I fill up the duck bucket with water, he tries to bite the stream and will fly through the air to get it.. SO funny!

Shelties are all so different in their personalities, aren't they? We had four before Archie who have since gone over the rainbow bridge, and each one was a special little star in their own right. Our first was a little male who was also extremely smart and fun, very outgoing, loved walks and peeing on things more than anything. Then we got a female who was DA BOSS.. definately the alfa. Great watchdog and kept order in the household. Those two had a litter of pups and we kept 2 and sold the rest. Wonderful dogs! They brought such joy into our lives and although biased as it sounds, Shelties truly are a precious gift to anyone who has had them in their lives.

Anywho.. hope to see you all around the forum!

Welcome to the forum, I also got my first Sheltie about 25 yrs ago. They are a joy aren't they. I currently own a 6 mos old Hartley.

Hey and welcome. Sounds like sheltie heaven at your house-ducks to herd !!! Sally tries to heard the wild ducks at our house but they just won't cooperate. Yes, we would love to see pics !!! :pop

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

mellie- ya, Archie enjoys herding our ducks (7 Anconas) every chance he gets, much to the ducks chagrin.

dawns2shelties- Shelties are the MOST wonderful dogs!! I know how hard it is to have them go over the RB, but they are always right there in our hearts. My little girl Tootie was the sweetest, kindest, most loving and loyal pet. God bless them all. OMG Hartley is Gorgeous!!!

Calliesmom and Lightplum- forgive my computer skills:ick .. I have some pix and will try to get them up. My new camera has a different adapter that I can never seem to keep track of

Here is Archie as a little happy stinker puppy (one year ago)......

Welcome to SN! Archie is a cutie

I have a Sheltie boy Perry. He's a tri 15 months old and he LOVES herding chicken, geese, horses, people... He is sending a tail wag to Archie all the way from the Czech Republic.

Colonel Underpants (aka Beckon) would have so much in common with Archie. Beckers lives for taking care of his chickens! Welcome -- it's wonderful to have you! :biggrin2:
