Hello everyone!
I've been lurking for a while. Finally registered, and now worked up the nerve to introduce myself. I'm 26 years old. I live out in SW Washington with my boyfriend and my two wonderful cats. We're in an apartment right now, but looking to move into renting a house later in the year. When we have the house, we're looking to get a dog (or two!).

I had my first Sheltie when I was about 5 years old. My parents got him as a puppy and he followed me everywhere. They named him Magnum after Magnum P.I. I have really fond memories of him and miss him terribly. We had to put him to sleep when I was in the 9th grade due to cancer.

Now as I am beginning to look forward to sharing companionship with another furry friend, I think of the memories I shared with Magnum and want to make new memories with another Sheltie.

I have learned a lot from reading the forums and hope to learn more from each of you!

Nice to meet you all!:smile2:

Hello and welcome to the Sheltie Nation Forum.

It is great to have you on board with us. Thanks so much for such a great introduction.

Welcome!

I was in the same position you're in a few years ago. I grew up with a sheltie and was really sad when she passed. As soon as I graduated from college and was living with my boyfriend I knew I wanted another one. Now I have two! I'm just hoping my husband will allow me to get a third in the future!

We visit Seattle, Washington quite often with our dog, Buffy. There's a great Sheltie Meetup group out there. They get around 20–30 dogs at events and it's very well-organized. I'm not sure if SW Washington is the same, but there are also all kinds of clean, city-run dog parks in Seattle. Very dog-friendly place, much more so than Chicago, I think.

Good luck with finding your new puppy. Buffy's grandsire is out that way; PM me if you want the info. There seem to be a lot of good Sheltie breeders in the area.

Welcome to the forum and so very sorry for your loss. I will have to say I loved the name he had...I loved that show and of course Tom Selleck is so easy on the eyes. I thought a few times of that name for a male and like Jag also after the tv show. Good luck on your up coming puppy.
