His ear tips are blueish :(

I noticed last night that Fred's ear tips are blueish underneath. I felt them, they felt slightly warm like the rest of his ears. I can't think of any cause other than my putting the moleskin on his ears (they were on for 5 days). Has this happened to anyone before? I'm so worried :( I have a vet visit Saturday, I wanted to check here and see if anyone knows what I'm talking about.
 
If you glued the tips down, you might have tipped them too tightly, cutting off circulation. I'd go see a vet!
 
I couldn't take it anymore so I rushed him to the vet just now. My usual vet wasn't in today so I saw a new lady and luckily for me, she used to work with a sheltie rescue group so she saw all kinds of things. She said that his ears are just bruised since the ear tips are sensitive and pressing the moleskin in place and taking it off could have caused it. But his ears are fine and they won't fall off (I was kind of freaking out lol). Whew :eek2:
 
What a relief for you! I'm sure Fred wouldn't have wanted to be the cute Sheltie whose ears fell off.:rolleyes2:

Jan your funny!! Sorry Kayem don't mean to be chuckling at Fred's ears but it just kinda hit me funny reading your post and then Jans.:lol:
 
You know, they're such tough little dogs that it's easy to forget that they have soft spots, too! Thanks for sharing this -- I think we all learned!!
