Holistic Flea and Tick repellant

It's a Winner

I'm with Chris. Pixie has been on it for a month. She just had a bath over the weekend and will get her second dose tomorrow. She has had not one flea or tick during the past month (and spring is our worst tick season), although I took one off me! I don't mind the smell, although it seemed to bother Pix for a few hours when I put it on her last month. We'll see how she does with it tomorrow. I think it's great stuff. Thanks again, Chris!! :biggrin2:

You're welcome, Ann! Mine get dose two as soon as the rain stops. It's been yucky here this spring.:(

I'm on the fence

I gave Sadie her first dose on Monday. Don't know if its working yet since Sadie hasn't been far from home, but I'm not seeing any new fleas.

The smell is slightly strong but doesn't bother my husband or I too much. I find it fairly pleasant.

I'm not to impressed with the greasiness though, it seems to have soaked into her fur more than its soaked into her skin.

Unfortunately, the smell seems to REALLY bother Sadie. She's been agitated since I put it on, pacing around and whining. I can distract her for a bit but she eventually returns to pacing and whining. I don't like how anxious its making her. If this anxiety lasts for much longer I may not give her a second dose.

I feel very torn, I'd much rather not give her harsh chemicals for flea/tick control, but I also don't think it does her any good if she has anxiety attacks every month because of the smell!

Pixie did the same thing with her first dose...she paced for the entire afternoon and then was restless all night as well. But after that she was fine. And when I put her second dose on, she didn't even notice it! I think it must be the smell that bothers them but maybe they get used to it.

Also, I didn't put it all in one place. My vet has told me it's always better to put it in at least three spots down their back, so that's what I do. It spreads out the coverage as well and you don't get the big grease spot.

I'm on dose #2 of Sergeant;'s Natural Guardian. I have no more tick issues than I did with Frontline. Moreover, the girls don't eem to notice a thing. We became more accustomed to the different aroma, too. I feel so much better using natural!!

24 hrs. of pacing and whining I could take, but Sadie has been pacing and whining for 4 days. I don't want her to be tortured by the smell. Perhaps she's just too sensitive to it? :confused2:

Oh dear, that really doesn't sound good, Ontario. It would make me nuts too and poor Sadie! She must be having some reaction to the smell. At this point I think I'd give her a bath, which should dilute the smell some and maybe make her more comfortable. I feel badly for you! Please let us know if it improves.

Hi

It's a long thread, so I didn't go back to where the conversation started, but is there a particular reason why you're not using topical Revolution? Coming from the same part of the world, it's always worked great for me. Is it because health concerns?
