How Do/Does Your Sheltie/Shelties Awaken You?

Sparky, my tri, likes to lay horizontal across the top of my bed pillow and he makes low cooing sounds (it sounds like cooing to me, LOL) when he wants me to get up out of bed! :lol:

Max, my sable, will lick any bare skin sticking out from the blankets and when that doesn't work, he'll lay across my legs!:biggrin2:

Don't know what Disco does as he loves sleeping in one of the overstuffed recliners! He moves when the rest of the pack is up and at 'em.
 
Treader doesn't try at all. I'm a deep sleeper. He likes to lay on my side though. Once he accidently tickled me awake by jumping up onto me. If another person tries to wake me up, he will stand on top of me and bark and growl at that person. Which wakes me up anyway.:lol:
Once I was pretending to be asleep, and my brother tried to wake me up...only to find that Treader was guarding me.:wink2:
 
Sheltie Mornings Are The Best Mornings

Sadie knows she'll end up in her crate if she tries to wake my husband or I up so its a very rare occurance. If its an emergency (like she has to pee), she'll just whine till we wake up. (She doesn't get crated for emergencies. )

Otherwise, she sits and stare intently at our faces and her head shoots up everytime we stir. If she happens to see some sign that we might be awake, she'll jump on us and try to lick our faces. She's so happy in the morning, its not possible to wake up on the wrong side of the bed :biggrin2:
 
Wake-up

For the wake-up call, Auber usually will just put her nose and front paws on the edge of my bed while she stands on her back paws (it's a tall bed) waiting for the alarm to go off. But on the mornings when I actually have the opportunity to sleep in, she goes crazy. She doesn't like the change in the routine. She will back up to the dresser and take a running start, throwing herself at the bed. She doesn't weigh too much so it just slightly shifts my mattress (but still enough to wake me up), huffing and turning circles excitely trying to entice me out of bed for a walk. It's quite adorable, even if not always appreciated.
 
When I get to sleep in, Layla usually joins me. But if thinks I'm overdoing it, she'll stand on my chest until I wake up.

Callie does the huffing thing- usually about an hour before the alarm goes off. She wants her breakfast and she wants it now :wink2: but I'm still sleeping :sleepy:. I usually don't get out of bed until the alarm actually goes off and since we have the doggy door - I know going out isn't the issue. When we do get up, Happy the mixed breed goes straight out and does his business but Callie keeps an eye on me until the food appears.
 
When we had Our Sheltie Angel, Jewel with us She was a huffer, and if that didn't work she would hit you with her paw and then huff again.:lol: Our little Kia whimpers, and if that is not enough it's the howl.:eek2:
 
Ginger tends to sleep at the foot of my bed most nights (unless I shut my bedroom door, which is usually to prevent the Cat from annoying me), so when she wants to wake me up, she'll usually either stomp all over my body snorting and whining, lick my face as soon as it's exposed, or try to chomp my feet through the blankets if I happen to move them.

The second I get out of bed to get dressed to take her out, though, she descends upon my pillows/any exposed bedsheets and starts licking. I don't know why, she's always had a thing for bedsheets. I think she likes the texture.
