Our sweet almost-8-month-old puppy, Fainly, has been diagnosed with inflammatory bowel syndrome almost since we got him and is on prednisone. We took him to the doc for a checkup and discovered he has severe joint laxity of the hock (ankle). He also has damage to his knees from the hock laxity. We can't see a specialist until October 6. Do you have any ideas about how to keep him happy for two weeks while we wait to see the specialist? He is to be kept on a low-activity lifestyle. He probably will need surgery and have to have more low activity then too. I'd like to keep him mentally stimulated at least. He seems depressed now; the steroid he's been put on for IBD is hard on him, I think, and now this. Thank you for any advice you can offer.
