How to keep a sheltie off the furniture?

No swap. They delivered it yesterday and Dad was asking about the power leg lift and the one guy said yes check it out and pulled the lever. Well dad was thinking this is wrong and called. Then the delivery guys were checking and yep not my couch. So right now I got chairs and the floor (they are supposed to call today) To be honest I figured Spitfire would be the one upset as things were out of order. But Sca was all bummed out as he usually does his thing and expects me to be on the couch and he either gets on the other end or the chair and can see everything. Last night he was pacing around looking for his spot :lol: For all Spitfire's flaky personality Sca is the big herder and things need to be where HE wants :hugs

that's terrible that they brought the wrong couch.....
poor Sca- no good place to hang out......
wait until you get the new one and see what Spitfire thinks then:pop

Amazingly the power leg lifts were a so what to him. Though he has not jumped in my lap yet so he is being cautious. The true test will be does he use it as a jump when he goes on a bender or detour. So far no bender as he is tired out tonight.

wow- would have thought that the power lift would have been scary- glad to hear that it's not an issue:yes:
 
Spitfire is still avoiding it :lol: Sca will jump up and go to bite it then look at me with a smile like "oops my bad I know I am not supposed to eat it" He is so funny when he gets into things like that because he almost wants to get caught.
 
It actually is possible to train them....

My dogs know that when I'm all by myself, they are welcome on the bed. But when David comes over....no.

It's no longer an issue. Yes, there are trainable and trainable under various conditions.

Absolutely right. It's all in how you train them. Dickens, for example, knows that Mom and Dad's bed and the big hassock in the living room are okay to jump on, but everything else is off-limits. And even the bed isn't a wide-open deal, but when Mom and Dad are sleeping it's a no-jump zone. Now when morning comes, and the alarm clocks go off, it's time for some Sheltie fun!
