I'm a little scared.....

Well, we've been vomit free all weekend! I suppose the yoguort to feed him his meds seem to be working.
Today is the last day for the Metcam - another 7 days of Clavamox.
His mouth still looks puffy and when he breathes, you can see his jowls go in and out...kind of like those blow frogs!
It's his weight loss that is the most awful thing. His face has gone all boney. And combined with the very bad ear trim I gave him, he looks a little bit like a rescue. I'm hoping the weight loss is due to the not eating/vomiting.
I really did myself a number when I did more research on lymphoma cancer and started matching symptoms one for one.
But we were at the cottage this weekend, and he sure didn't act like a sick puppy, as he and Indy were bounding through the forest chasing each other.
And as for spoiled....Got home from the cottage and realized I had no more canned food. So he got his kibble mixed with hot water. When I put down his bowl, he just looked at me...."Are you kidding me! Where's the good stuff!?" He came back a few minutes later and ate about 1/4 of it. Now he's ignoring me! :sadsmile:

Glad to hear his energy is picking up and the vomiting has stopped. As far as spoiling them , I agree with everyone else, isn't that what Shelties are for ??
My Kia still enjoys her yogurt but it must be stoneyfield Strawgerry or blueberry. She won't touch the plain, can't say I blame her.

Good news, Barb! Hopefully he'll put the weight back on once he's through the run of meds. Fingers are crossed here!!

So sorry that I didn't see this sooner, glad to hear Bacca is improved. Its so frightening when they are ill, isn't it?
I would think the weight-loss is linked to not eating/vomiting, it is surprising how quickly even big dogs lose weight when they are ill like that, but fingers crossed he starts putting it back on now.
I'll keep you in my prayers.

I'm really glad to hear that you had a good weekend and that Bacca continues to improve!
If there's one thing I've learned, its to watch what I research on the internet. When Sadie was having diarrhea for so many months I was convinced that I knew what was wrong with her and that the vet was wrong and just not listening. In my defense I've had more than my share of bad experiences with doctors due to a difficult to treat, on going health problem, but I still should have listened to my vet who would have been able to help Sadie much sooner if it weren't for me.
That being said, I've found it's best to keep internet research to a minimum until a vet that you trust has diagnosed the problem. At the very least it keeps you from jumping to conclusions and losing sleep.
