Honestly,I would not,at least for the first meeting. It would be difficult enough,to concentrate on the first meeting with the breeder, with out having to calm & reassure Smudge. If the meeting goes well, you can always bring him to a second visit.
Plus you always take the chance that what if she may have a sick dog,one that may not be fully immunized.I'm kinda freaky about this stuff. Y

ou know dogs always sniff..sniff~
In the first visit,I would certainly be paying attention to her dogs, how they react to you,and you can almost get a really good feeling to watch them interact with you as a stranger, without bringing a dog into the mix like whammo! Because it may not go well in Smudges favor. After all he would be on thier turf.
In the meantime, you could always be working more with Smudge on confidance issues, and being in public more around strange people, scents, and other dogs.
I think just knowing your dog is key really. However that being said,if I had lived closer to Janet,I would have handled our first meeting with out the interferance of Earnhardt, then maybe a meeting after the initial one,of course with Janets permission to bring Earnhardt. I would never show up with my dog without asking first. I don't even go any wheres with either of my two, unless permission is asked.
Just my thoughts~
