Imaginary Mice

Asher has begun chasing imaginary mice. It all started when DH brought in a rack of wire baskets that had been stored in a friend's garage, which had mice. Apparently, there was mouse residue, because Asher lost his mind looking for the source of the scent. Now he runs all over the kitchen and yard, sniffing excitedly. at baseboards and fence lines, seeking his prey. We live in the country, but we have no recent mouse sign.

Frankly, it's beginning to creep me out! :wideyed:

Ewwww I detest mice! I’d be afraid I had them if my dog was looking everywhere for them:ROFLMAO:!
None of my current dogs have ever caught a critter but Riley killed a rabbit and my mom had a Corgi cross that killed 2 rabbits. No mice fortunately!

Teddy loves nose work games. Last winter when it was very cold outside,I would hide treats in the house for him to find. He still thinks he missed one,so he hunts around the room looking for it. I do not play the game in the summer so it's special when I need to keep him engaged when it's cold outside.

We have field mice, pack rats, and ground squirrels. The regular ol tiny grey field mice are the least of our problems. Pack rats destroy vehicles by getting up in the engine and eating the cables and wires. Ground squirrels (kinda like a chipmunk or tiny prairie dog) create tunnels and burrows all over the property. I sicced Fillion on one of the cheeky bastages who kept coming back no matter how many times I filled in his holes. Fil almost caught him! He escaped out the side yard and hasn't been seen since.

We play Go Find 'Em every day at 5. That's when I started playing during the summer being unable to walk them due to the heat. However Benson does not care that its now ok to walk again at 5, he wants to play the game everyday. The whole house is now being used except for the spare bedroom where they have to wait till I'm done hiding the treats.

We have mice and they totaled one of our cars by eating the insulation off of the wires funny but not funny. But chipmunks are the object of Maisies's obsession-- not sure what she would do if she caught one or is she trying to herd it?? but boy does it have her attention and she has lots of words to say to it..whenever she sees one..

Shelby loves doing nosework, we go to class every week. Whenever there is a critter somewhere I can tell by her sniffing. I told DH that Shelby told me there were mice in the grill. DH said no……. Well sure enough when we had family over for a cook out, what comes running out of the grill but a family of mice- told him he should believe Shelby. she has been known to catch mice so of course my nieces were screaming “don’t let Shelby catch them”.

Thanks for that…..now I’ll be afraid to open my BBQ next spring :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:!
