I lost my Timber 3.5 years ago, and only 1.5 months after my 19 year old daughter, Michelle, died.
At that moment, I thought that whatever God was up there was asking too much of me, and testing me to the limit of my endurance.
Then my sister said: Michelle must have been feeling lonely and so she called up Timber to keep her company until the rest of us could join her.
It still hurt that they were both gone, but at least I got comfort that they were together. That gave me some peace.
Since then, I've got my two boys, Indy and Bacca. And we will continue to play in this world, yet someday be reunited with Michelle and Timber, and my grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.
I still have my son, my partner, my parents, my siblings, my friends. I take my blessings everyday for the living, not those who have left me.
I guess I'm saying, you can't let the loss take you down. If you believe in the afterlife, then you will meet your loved ones again, someday. In the meantime, take joy in your life.
Take heart!
