Did you all hear about the 37 Shelties and 111 birds found in Montgomery County, Indiana? Seems the woman was a breeder, her husband went into assisted living and she couldn't cope.

The rescuers had to wear haz mat suits in the house it was so bad.

Central Illinois Sheltie Rescue posted on Facebook that they have 21 of those Shelties.

Shelties were not in very good shape according to the news reports. They said there were lots of skin and eye problems. Not surprising when you think of the rescuers having to wear haz mat suits.

CISR is calling for fosters if anyone is close enough and wants to help.
 
Do we know what happened to the other 17 shelties? Poor puppies... those pictures are just heartbreaking. I am so glad there are rescues and their many volunteers who go in and help these dogs.
 
Ahh Sheltie Rescue of Central Indiana has 13 of them. Sorry, I guess I should google before I post!
 
Glad you found that out. I haven't had a lot of success with google lately! I didn't know SRCI had some too.

And the numbers don't match but then the way the press has been the last several years, that's not a surprise.
 
Oh my goodness. I am heartbroken for these little loves. I just can not imagine their lives, how sad it was. I see these stories on tv sometimes and I am sure their intentions once were honorable but the end results are so tragic. I hope these dogs all get to come to know love and safety and feel secure in life with a loving family.
 
unfortunately 4 of them are HW positive including one momma who is due in 15 days so she can not be treated for a while yet and I have no idea if puppies are in any danger:no:
