Introducing Jake

I know it's abit late but, I wanted to Introduce our sheltie Jake. (i'm not sure but i think i've said something about him before but never went into detail.)

About three weeks after we lost kain, my dad brought home a little 6week old sheltie from a rescue shelter. What happened was Jake was apart of a backyard breeder's collection. The cops had found out about it after a fire at the house, and took all the dogs. My dad said the shelter people said out of 6 puppies in the litter, only three lived. But they didn't think that the other three would live long. My dad has a huge place in his heart for dogs so he got jake, hoping to save at lest one life. My brother and i are home schooled so he knew we had the time to care around the clock for jake. I'll never forget when i saw him, he was so small and shaking. The second I saw him he had me wrapped around his little paw. But the poor thing was so scared and covered in fleas and had worms, From being outside all his little life. (The shelter people had started him on worming stuff, and tried to get him a bath.) So my brother and i had to pick fleas off, using fingers and a flea comb.I was so worried about him the first night. He was so weak and small, he slept in bed with me, and i had to feed him from a bottle.
It was like that for two months, nursing both his body and soul. During that time he was never alone. he was always with me or my brother.
How that he's a year old we feel he's safe, and he's heathly. You'd never know what kind of past he had. Besides him running behide me, or someone in my family when he's scared. We are alittle worried as tomorrow will be the one year since we lost kain. But away here are the pic's.
here he is at about four months i think, with my brother.

And here he is at a little over a year old. with his favorite friends the pigs, yumi and felfei.

It's so funny he'll clean them and watch them, if the cat gets close he runs it away.

It's good to hear Jake has a good home. He definitely blossomed into a lovely dog.

Looks like he's really gentle with the guinea pigs.

He has grown up into a handsome dog! He is very lucky to have found you and your family. Thank you for sharing his story with us.

Sounds like all your love and care brought him to where he is today. He looks beautiful and happy. I'm so happy for him and your family.

I am so happy for Jake that he found such a great family to take him in and give him a secure and happy home. You've done a wonderful thing. Jake truly is a lucky dog.

Learning from experts

Well, it's quite obvious that Jake has learned to care for those who need him from your family. You care for him, and he cares for the little piggies. How cute is that. I'm so glad he found such a wonderful home! He's beautiful!

Jake is gorgeous and looks very happy and healthy, congratulations on a great job! His little friends are cute too!

Jake is a very handsome fellow. And I'd say that Jake and your family were meant to be together. Considering everything he went through before your Dad truly rescued him, it's obvious that you all did everything right for him when he became a part of your household.

What a lucky boy Jake is! He is very handsome. My son loved the pictures with the "pigs". We have two "pigs" also, but I think Marlie would chase them if she could!
