Is there a puppy size chart?

I did a search but couldn't find anything.

Maggie is 8 weeks old and she isn't even quite 3 pounds yet.

I'm a little concerned. All of the puppies I see here around the same age look so much bigger.

She eats a fair amount and seems pretty active and happy. I should also mention she was part of a litter of 6. She's 100% sheltie and not a mix - does this seem underweight to you? Is there a chart somewhere for sheltie ranges?

She's 7 1/2" at 8 weeks. Not terrible I suppose.

It's hard when you have a 40+ pound sheltie looking down at the tiny one.

I got Bailey at 10 weeks old. She was 3.5 pounds. She matured to 15 pounds and 13 1/2 inches. I'm not sure how tall she was. I'll have to double check her height chart. She was a little one too, but is considered normal size for a sheltie

How about a 30 pound one looking down at the 20 pound one? :eek2:

I tried so hard to understand those charts when my dogs were "growing up", but I never could quite understand them. Jennifer is using a chart like those (might even be the same one - not sure!) to keep a check on Karma to make sure that she doesn't get too tall for the ring.

I use the nobel chart its on that page. Its funny once you've measured enough of them you get to know about where they should be for age, You see it all the time at matches and shows people will say ohh how many weeks what size, followed by the Ohhh thats good...or the ever dreaded OHHHHHHhhhhhhhh:lol:

I just looked back at the records from the pet store where my neighbor got Gypsy at 10 1/2 weeks she was on special care by their vet at 2.5 lbs. and at 12 wks she weighed 3.25. These aren't records you should go by since she is an unhealthy puppymill dog but I get amazed every time I see how little she was when they flew her to the store on a plane. Poor thing.

Wow that is really small. How big is she now?
