Is there a sheltie tooth fairy?

Too funny! Ya, OK don't feel weird at all now! I should have known better, on a forum dedicated to us who adore our babies!

I have 6 teeth saved now!

I'm SO surprised how fast the new ones come in. Her bottom canines have just shot up in a week!

I like seeing the size difference, the baby teeth definitely are BABY - so thin & tiny compared to the very sturdy looking bigger new teeth.

Hubby has referred to her as Furry Piranha from day 1! She does live up to it!

Olive is 6 months, and has the two upper canines to go. One of the lower ones fell out last week when I wash brushing her teeth. I wondered what the 'clink' was, then saw the tooth on the floor. All the rest she apparently ate...

Zoey is 6 months and also still has the top two canine teeth to go too. Her new ones are growing in already though! The baby ones are still not loose. I check every day, I'm interested to see how far in the adult ones will come in before the baby ones finally come out.

Yes !!

Treesa and I vote a big Yes for the Biscuit from the Tooth Fairy ...
What's that Treesa?? ... no sweetness. You don't get the cookie ...
aww ok ...
Cookies raised in celebration ... :biggrin2:

Olive just lost one of the upper canines, only one to go, but I know it is hurting her. It is jammed up against the adult tooth, which is coming in quickly. The gum is inflamed, and the teensy baby canine is angled in a way that it doesn't really go where it is supposed to when she closes her mouth. She is off her feed right now, and I blame 'the tooth'. Hopefully it will depart soon. It finally feels a little loose! Her new adult teeth look so pretty--they are big and white and perfect. Her smile can now best be described as a 'toothy grin'!

Um I am teeth obsessed. Just ask any of my friends, my nickname is tooth fairy. :smile2: If you want to know anything about our dogs teeth ask me. I had almost everyone of Justice's teeth and know to the day when all the teeth fell out of all my dogs. Now I bet you don't think you're so weird.

When I got my first dog I did not realize they even lost their teeth. I was hysterical when I found my baby with her teeth on the floor and a little blood dribbling out. I freaked. Looking back it was so funny. My poor baby passed away last weekend. I am still trying to work through my pain but I gotta keep going for my son. My son is 1 and we are looking into getting a sheltie pup soon. Our house is not a home without a dog. Ill see if I can post some pics of my dog. :(

So sorry to hear about the passing of you dear dog. Prayers of peace for you and your family. They always have a special place in our hearts...what a sweet little face too. Rest in peace.

Oh, definitely a yummy nummy!!!

My Dash had to have some teeth removed...we made sure he got a special treat for each one he "lost"!! He now has no more cute little teeth on bottom in front. :( (He ate rocks, tree bark, birds, squirrels, etc to survive before we adopted him....guess rocks aren't good for Sheltie teeth. ;) )

I'm sorry about Jilly-- she looked so so happy in her pictures!

I've only ever been able to find one tooth from any of my dogs and it was from the sheltie. We were standing there randomly staring at each other when he starts chewing on something out of nowhere then spits a huge canine out. I still have it!

In my office yesterday one of my students was visiting Mystique and giving her a doggie treat. One of her teeth fell out on the floor and the poor kid thought it was because it broke from the cookie he was giving her. I explained that puppies lose their baby teeth just like human kids and asked if he would like to keep the tooth. Response....."Ew...gross...that's just weird". So...officially from the mouth of a 9 year old we are all apparently "just weird". :wink2:

baby teeth

Just noticed that Bailey's bottom 2 front teeth have fallen out. I'm not sure when, but he's definitely been teething. Maybe that's why he's been teething less this week - because it's sore. He's only about 3 mths old (approximate, bc he's a rescue). Is that young? I can't remember when my last puppy's teeth started falling out because that was 11 years ago & I was only 12!
