Is there something funny looking about this dog?

I agree that there is nothing wrong with the dog. The haircut is messed up. On the bottom it looks like the fur is cut straight across like bangs that were left long. This throws the look off. The dog himself is stunning. Like to see a picture of him again with a proper hair trim.

Ooo ooo do us

PS I know the angle is lacking but to get him standing and still is a challenge :o

I can't comment on the proper look but you are a very handsome cool sheltie Sca!!

Oh do Miko too!!!.... Seeing as I was the one who brought it up, wouldn't it be hilarious if my own dog was "odd" looking! Maybe I just think he's normal because I'm used to seeing him everyday. :wink2:

p.s. Not that it's a great photo of her... but that's Tasha in the photo with Miko

Miko is a very good looking boy! Does his white collar go all the way around or does he just have a white patch at the back of his neck? His facial profile reminds me of Mikos!

The front legs look like they are set back at little, but that could just be due to the fact that the haircut is not the best. Definitely a lovely coat though if he gets proper grooming.

This isn't the best picture of Indy, but I think he's got pretty good conformation overall. I think the "set" of both pups is pretty similar.

Honestly, I think its just a bad hair day. I think he's gorgeous!

He is gorgeous Barb!! Isn't Bacca going to be upset that you didn't include his picture? He's very good looking too!!

I looked at the picture again and it looks like the collar is trimmed wrong as well.
I repeat: Nothing wrong with the dog, just needs professional grooming.

Note:I am referring to the very beginning of this thread....is there something funny

Hi thanks!!... His white collar starts on the back of his neck and goes all the way around on one side... it's kind of like a 1/2 collar :wink2:

Hey may not be the flashiest looking sheltie... but what he lacks in flash, he makes up with heart. :biggrin2:

What do you mean he's not flashy looking, all shelties are!! The 1/2 collar is cool, I like the ones with unique markings, our Brie has half her face white! http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb446/nbrard/8b8aef36.jpg

Ooooooh... :eek2:.... Brie looks very cool with the 1/2 white face.
Miko has one tiny spot of white on the end of his nose and that's it for white on the face.

That was my thought too....mostly bad grooming....which is why I posted Indy's photo because the set seemed to about the same. Not perfect in either dog for conformation purposes, but acceptable.

And they shot her on a hill to level her top line. If her feet were level, her butt would be in the air. I see ads on shelties online where people do this too.

It's not just Shelties. Photos like that are abundant in the horse world, especially when a horse is butt high. Putting the butt further from the camera, front feet on a hill etc is all around. Even for "good" conformation shots.

Another View.

In reference to the Sheltie pictured in entry #1 in this thread - I think she is beautiful and just fine the way she is, and I would have no problem loving her whatever others perceive her imperfections to be. But then I am hopeless when it comes to loving this wonderful breed we all cherish so much. I would rather focus on some of her positives such as -
1. That wonderful thick coat.
2.. Those incredible color markings.
3. That lovely face.
4. Those sweet eyes.
5. And so much more.
I think some of us can be way too critical. I guess that is why I could never be part of one of those doggy beauty pageants. Cheers to those who can be however. I know - I'm just hopeless around these fantastic Shelties, and I am beyond reasoning with on the subject. Cheers to all on this thread. Will
