Is this allowed somewhere on the forums?

Hi all!

I am working on something to be auctioned off on Facebook with 100% of the proceeds going to the Colorado Sheltie Rescue. I'd like to be able to let all the Sheltie lovers on this forum know about the auction when I'm ready to do it. It would help raise more money for the rescue.

Is something like this allowed on the forums? If so, what section would I put this announcement in?

If this is not allowed, can anyone help me with ideas of how to promote, and get a wider audience of Sheltie lovers?

I just adopted a new rescue last month, and I really want to give back to the rescue. They are such a great organization, and do so much for these amazing dogs.

Thanks!!!!

Yes you can post about fundraising for legitimate charities - the rules state

Charities/Rescues – Announcements for charitable or fundraising events can only be made for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations. Special exceptions may be made, at the moderators’ discretion and direction, for board-related events or fundraising activities in extraordinary circumstances.

You can put the announcement under "Rescue Chat"

One other point to mention... as long as the rescue group that is going to benefit from the fundraiser agrees to also post the information on their website.

It is the best way to confirm to everyone that the rescue is aware of, and sanctions the event.

Thank you for the response!

I pitched this fundraising idea to the Colorado Sheltie rescue, and they are on board. Since this is going to be a Facebook auction, it will not be on the website, but will be on the Facebook page. They have agreed to get the National Sheltie resuce Facebook group involved also.

Since the key to success with an auction like this involves a wide audience, I thought it would help to promote on your site. Thanks!!
