Lady Ann went to Rescue Central to have a set of double dew claws removed from her rear legs. She will then be placed. Good by sweet Lady Ann it was my pleasure to keep you for a while here at the Lakeland Sheltie Spa and Retreat. Be happy honey and show your new mama and daddy what a good girl you can be....

My new kids are Mat, a six month old sable and white male who will be with me for about two weeks then he's going to be placed and Dottie a 9 year old blue merle who is very very big! (read fat) She has a thyroid condition and she hasn't been medicated properly for it (they said they kept forgetting to give it to her) so she packed on the pounds... She weighs 45 lbs and shouldn't weigh more than 25... Poor thing can hardly waddle. But we'll slim her down in no time. With proper medication and a good green bean and pumpkin diet she'll be running and playing in no time.

It's too cold and windy to get any good pictures of these two new kids so I'll try to get some tomorrow after it warms up a bit...

Hugs to all

St Francis, thank you for helping Lady Ann find her forever home. Please keep all homeless Shelties close to your heart and held in your hands.

Congrats on placing Lady Ann and here's wishing your two new shelties a swift adjustment to a new and better life.

Yeah Lady Ann!!

Your forever home awaits you ! Great going Judy !

Looking forward to seeing photos of the 2 newbies ! Matt and Dottie. Poor Dottie, how can you continually forget to give meds they need. You'll get the love and care you need now Dottie. Judy will see to that.:biggrin2:

I'm so happy for Lady Ann! and please do post some pictures of the two 'new kids' :wink2:. They are both very lucky to have you in their lives, even if it is temporary! Bless you for what you do for all these beautiful furbabies.

How many fosters do you keep at one time?

Is it really hard to give them up when they are adopted, or do you keep a sort of emotional distance, knowing they aren't going to stay?

Do foster homes have first dibs if they want to keep a dog they are fostering?

I think it's really cool that you do so much for Shelties in need.
