Koji Not Vomiting with Hydrogen Peroxide - Thoughts on what to do?

He counter surfed (darn me for not putting things far back enough lately) and ate something he shouldn't have (one of those paper pads that comes with meat). I gave him a teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide to induce vomiting, I could hear his stomach making some awful noises. No vomit, so I tried a second teaspoon. He won't go near it now. He whined to go out, so I took him out, he pooped (diarrhea), oh it was nasty. Someone just got a rear end bath. Not sure if the hydrogen peroxide triggered the diarrhea, but that's what it led to.

But no vomit and now he won't go near the hydrogen peroxide? Thoughts? Is it too late now? It's been about 45 mins since he ate that thing.

Weird, he just licked up the peroxide, I forgot I left it on the ground. And poor guy, now he's sleeping. I may have to rethink his dinner. Okay, I give up. I'll just monitor him now.

So frustrated. He just got off of a 72 hour watch from eating something on Friday. I'm mad at me and him. AUGH!

I don't know if you'd want him to vomit up paper. I'd be afraid he'd choke on it while it comes up.

Ugh Koji!!! I hope everything passes normally and he doesnt't have any issues. :fl
 
How muh does Koji weigh? The general rule of thumb is usually one teaspoon per 10 pounds of body... Sounds like he may not have had enough to make him throw up?

I've had to do this twice. Once was a foster who got into a whole bottle of rimadyl AND chololate :dead: she was a cocker who needed two teaspoons it took her one dose. and it was almost instant
The other was my friends bichon who ate a whole pack of gum with xylitol in it, he was a bichon who also needed two teaspoons, it took him two doses (15mins apart). Force fed... and a walk to shake things up, it took a good five minutes after the second dose. Yuck.

I don't know, it if were me, I'd say it's time to call your veterinarian. Peroxide is considered toxic since it induces vomiting and therefore does not stay in the body, I would be concerned if it was staying in, but I'm no expert :ick Also, some things do more damage coming back up.Not sure :fl

Fingers crossed. Well, the paper is super saturated. You know, the kind that is under the raw chicken when you buy it from the market, so I don't think it'd get stuck. But still, we want it to come out, right? Right.

Oh. I didn't realize that. He's 20lbs.

Well, I will say this. I don't think it triggered him to vomit, but it made him poop/diarrhea. I mean, he had to go really fast, so I'm thinking that's how it came out.

I'm keeping an eye on him. So far, he seems okay.
 
I'd be concerned if it were one of those pads that have a plastic lining. If it's just paper it'll probably be alright.
 
I think it' had a plastic lining. It wasn't a big one though that comes with, say chicken. It was about half that size. Now I'm wondering if it did come out in his diarrhea. It was half solid so I didn't think about it. However, that was only about 20 mins after he ate, I'm assuming it wouldn't go through his system that fast even with the help of the peroxide.

Koji, as always, is a piglet, so he ate some dinner last night and I just gave him his full breakfast. He hasn't vomited, so that's a plus. No poop yet, but after last night, I don't expect any until tonight.

I'll keep you posted when we have poop and hopefully that stupid paper lining thingy.
 
Diva ate one of those couple years ago. I tried to make her vomit with H2O2 and nothing(gave her the maximum dose in 2 doses).

H2O2 does not work on Diva as I have had to try and make her vomit one other time and no luck. In fact, Diva doesn't vomit. She has only vomited one time in her life and that was after she went into labor 10 mins after eating a huge meal and she was ready to eat 10 mins later. I think if she does vomit it is a sign of impending doom just like her not eating.

That being said, the liner passed just fine the next day. Never missed a meal or had diarrhea.
