A friend has just got a new puppy and it is such a laid back thing and sleeps all the time and she is getting impatient because she wants to play with her and do some fun training. I tell her don't knock it!
Cadbury NEVER slept, he regularly made me go "ARGH What did I bring home?!!!"
I now know he is slightly insecure and this could explain why he struggled to truly relax and sleep as a pup and only ever really slept if he was put into his crate (usually with some protest).
So a part of me thinks pick the laid back sheltie pup when the times comes, pick the sleepy, calm one (if there is one
). Make life easy for yourself, but then I think calm, laid back puppy might not want to do agility? Might not get all hyped up by a training session or flyball - and that is what I want to do.
A laid back, sleeps all the time dog sounds nice at first, but as someone once told me, hyping up a disinterested dog is harder than calming a hyper dog.
So which would you choose? Lazy pup or hyper pup?

a family friend has a basset, admittedly she is quite old now, but there is nothing she likes better than being tucked into her bed and having a nice long doze!
I've never met a sheltie I didn't like.
