How do I find a location close to me? I am desperatly trying to find group get togethers and all types of activities for my lad to participate in... Flyball, agility, herding. Any an all if possible. I am in Rockland, NY.

Try Gail Shaw Fast Time Agility. It shows all the trials for NY, Pa, and NJ.You can go to any of them and meet people and find out all kinds of info. People who do agility might also do herding and Flyball.
 
For get togethers you can go to the Community section the Search Members and do an advanced search. Add NY as the location and you will get a partial list of members in your state. Then stalk them :lol: (just kidding), check threads to see if they are active and maybe read some posts. So for instance if they never post in agility but do in Conformation they might have no interest in the first (though not a given).

Also you can go to NADAC as an example and search for all events near you. Other orgs should work similar.

Check ASSA for local clubs http://www.assa.org/clubs.html#NewYork I think a member here has a hand in the Central New York Shetland Sheepdog Club if my memory is correct.

Google dog club then your county or a major city near you as many dog clubs have agility activities.

Lastly google NY agility club.
 
Definately check out your local dog club. Dont know if its the same where you are, but here you can meet a lot of dog people (and many with young dogs) at your local park or oval after work.
