Marty is limping - causes?

When we started our little Ally on Sentinel years ago we didn't notice anything the first two doses. By the third, I happened to be home with her and she was lying by my feet when, about an hour after ingesting it she started having weird kind of seizures. Walking backwards in circles, rapidly blinking her eyes - it was WEIRD. I gave her some peroxide to make her vomit, and took her straight to the vet. They called the company, who acknowledged that seizures were a possible side-effect. I never gave her that again and she never again had seizures. She was also MDR1 normal.

You may be on the right track even if it isn't common.

If you do believe it caused a neurological problem then I’d avoid all tick medication. When Blueberry was a puppy perhaps a few days after her second dose of puppy vaccines she developed a twitch that 2 different vets felt was neurological in nature. The second vet we saw was a holistic vet who said if this was neurological that Blueberry should never be given any flea or tick medication because they raise the risk of further seizures especially if the dog has shown to have an elevated risk. I was fortunate that Blueberry either outgrew whatever it was or the CBD oil I’d given her for 3 months helped (she hasn’t had one since she was around 5 months old), whichever it was we’ll never know but I will never give her any tick medication and I have to get her titered rather than vaccinating her.

Oh WOW, that’s so scary, but also interesting! Thank you for sharing this story with me.

Thank you for that story. It’s all such good information to have. I’m glad Blueberry never had any more issues.
