Missing Sheltie: Harford County MD (Belcamp/Riverside) FOUND SAFE!

Great news that he's been spotted and so close to home. Good luck! Sending good vibes your way.

When they are spooked, it can be difficult to get them to come back. But maybe hearing her parents voices will be enough for her.

That is good news that he's been spotted. Be very careful approaching him however. Once a dog is spooked, they run on instinct and will not even come to their owners. I have good friends here that had a sheltie get spooked and she ran. They spotted her on their property a few days later, but she was too scaired to even come to them. She ran again. They eventually caught her a week later. I would try that trap that Ann was talking about or trying to lure the dog into an enclosed yard with no humans around that the dog can see. I hope that you catch him soon. My prayers are with you.

Thanks for the update Mike

I agree with the others the Hav-A-Heart trap along with close monitoring should do it. also bringing your dog to the area might help coax him out.:wink2:

the best advice i have,if u see him and he looks at u just callapse on the ground, he'll come running over.and when he gets close enough within arms reach grab him..this works better then getting him to come by calling out to him.

my sheltie use to get loose all the time anytime i spotted her and called for her she'd take off running, most shelties do.then someone here gave the advice i mentioned above to someone who was missing a sheltie. and ive now used that everytime she gets loose. i just yell her name, she looks at me and i drop the the ground and it works like a charm..never fails . good luck and i hope hes found soon

Oliver is home finally!!! Thanks Sheltie Forums!

While I was at my parents house helping my dad drywall his new garage I got a frantic call from my girlfriend. Oliver had just been spotted again on the neighbors property! I rushed over and couldn't find him anywhere.. ugh.. I went back to doing what I was doing and the neighbor called again and said she had just seen him sneak under the porch on the back of their house. She said there is only one way in and one way out so she sent her husband out and he blocked it up. My girlfriends dad was closer then us to the property so he hurried over with Olivers mommy and after a few minutes they got the little booger out unharmed! They said he was very skittish, a little dirty, hungry and pretty shaken up since he probably has not seen very many humans in the past week.

Anyway he is home! Gonna give him a few days to get back into the swing of things.. get some food in his belly and sleep where it is warm :) I told them the first thing they need to do is get some tags on him!!!

He looks good though and seems to be well! Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers over this past week!!!

THAT IS GREAT!! I can imagine how worried and helpless you have felt. Glad there was a good ending and he is back being spoiled
