Monty is coughing/choking almost none stop

OK, the first picture made me and DH smile. The second made me cry. That's the most sweet and precious bond. Your home is so filled with love -- nothing so beautiful could come from anything less.

And yes, we all prayed for Monty at St. Peter's on Sunday.

Lol thanks for the kind words again and I have to say, I can't wait for mischievious Monty to return as well (still can't believe I'm saying that ha).
Thank you for keeping little Monty in your prayers Chris, tomorrow is the big day for us. He's going in for another set of scans to see if the 'shadow' on his lung has gone or if it's something more serious. I think if we get the all clear then we have no more problems and can just concentrate on building up his strength and confidence again :)

It's trial and error with the dog walking. Somedays he can make it around the block and back, others he falls over a few feet after leaving the gate. So he doesn't miss out I just carry him and we'll have a little sit on the grass while he recovers. His lungs really have taken a beating so it's all still babysteps. Caro you are doing amazing with Tully and going for little walks will happen soon. Tully has been such a strong gal and you couldn't have done a better job taking care of her. I look forward to hearing how your little walks go together when you are both ready.

Thanks for the update Darren. Sure hope Monty’s new X-ray shows nothing. Maybe it was just additional fluid in the lung that caused the shadow? Fingers and paws crossed that he gains strength every day. I am sure your picking him up when he is tried and resting with him in the shade reinforces your bond with him! Good luck at your let visit! I am sure Monty will be happy it will be a visit only!

I hope it's just scarring from the infection. Earlier this year my mum's oncologist found a shadow on her lungs ina CT and the radiologist said she had stage 4 cancer. A second opinion, ultrasound and MRI it turned out to be just scarring from when she had an infection. Sheesh, we were all ropable. But it just shows those little lung scars can even trick the experts.

Wow Caro, that must've been terribly frightening, good thing she got a second opinion!

Thanks for the update Darren! Fingers crossed that the shadow is gone or at least smaller. Poor Monty was put through the wringer with the pneumonia! Heck people who have pneumonia caused by Covid are usually in hospital for weeks and even after it's not like they can go run a marathon...it takes time to get back in shape, no different for Monty.
Have you considered rehab for Monty Darren? Perhaps water exercise to help build strength?

Thinking of you both. I imagine poor little Monty will be quite freaked over a return to the vet, but good news, Mr. B, treats, your girls should be able to make up for it afterwards... Getting prayers going for you all.

PS: I measured and Monty is the height of our small standard doxie - weighs less than Kooper but same height - would LOVE to see him in person!

Thanks Gloria, I'm hoping it was just fluid, that's what the vet said it had a good chance of being! He's coming on more now, and lays with me on the grass we are slowly getting there. I know I said visit but it's a full day again as they need to semi sedate him again. Hopefully for the last time :fl

Oh wow Caro, that just shows the importance of second opinions. I'm so happy it turned into just scarring, super scary!. I really want to get one for Monty but don't want to put him through anymore tests/scans, I think he's had enough!

Thanks Lisa, I keep having to remind myself about the pneumonia when we have few set backs. He's done really well to get back to where he is so I've got to make sure not to push him. He actually was supposed to be doing rehab but I cancelled it. He would have had to be left there and I just think he's had enough being left with strangers. I'm doing my best to take him out and get him walking up and down the stairs to build him up.

Sending good thoughts and prayers that today's scan is perfectly clear and Monty is really on his way back to a full recovery!!! Do you have to leave him at the vet's again, or do you get to wait and bring him home?

Thanks Ann, the scans are on Wednesday so he's getting lots of love and rest today haha. He has to spend all day there again as they need to sedate him again. I'm hoping this will be the last time he has to go through it all for a while.

Thank you Sandy! I wish I was closer to you all so Monty could thank everyone in person and you can see how tiny he is lol. I love that he's the same size as Kooper, I just need to get a little more weight on him haha. I know he's tiny when I can turn around and the youngest is able to pick him up and cuddle him lol.
