For the holiday weekend, I am going to spend three days with Daisy's former foster parents...and there will be SEVEN shelties there! (including Daisy). How fun! I have been a bit down, just being the brunt of some vicious gossip in my very bored community, with small minded people who must be so miserable they want others to join them...it still hurts.... but I am going to escape the drama and spend time doing what I love best - visiting good friends, petting and photographing lots of shelties (I have a new camera too!), and eating bar-b-que!

The gossip has caused me some physical illness...anxiety, tummy troubles (diarrhea and vomiting), depression....but I spoke to my good friends (who don't live here) and I have a different attitude today...I cannot change people, I can only change how I react to them. I have a wonderful life - good friends, a great apartment which is a sanctuary for me and Daisy, and a life outside of the pettiness....I don't need to be bothered by sick people who cannot help but spread their sickness on others.... I am thankful for my faith, which gets me through these difficult situations....

Back to the program! Will post pics of all the shelties after the weekend, provided I remember to take the lens cap off the fancy camera I just got!!!
 
I am so sorry for you and I can empathize too. Happened to me. That kind of thing does cause illness. People with nothing better to do than gossip. It is so wrong. You enjoy yourself! :hugs
 
Good for you! gossip isn't really about the subject -- it's about the gossips trying to feel inflated! You go and have a great time!!!! :hugs
 
Sorry for your troubles! Generally people who gossip and back stab others are jealous and insecure ... and are often acting out to hide troubles and miserableness in their own lives.

It hurts when you're the subject of rumors and gossip... but I always try to tell myself that I'd rather be the subject of the gossip than the idiots with nothing better to do than talk about somebody else! Boring! :sleepy:

Sounds like you deserve a good weekend away. I hope you have a great time, and get lots of great pictures.
 
Enjoy all that " sheltieness " and yesssss, there could never be too many pictures of the event...glad you have risen above the gossiping thing, that is a tough time.
