Morning vomiting

Hi all! My 1 year old, Berkley, has been vomiting in the early morning. He does this about 3-4 times a week and has for about 2 weeks. The vomit is liquid in nature, bile and gooey, but no solids/chunks. He wakes up early in the morning and goes into his kennel to do this then hops back into bed. He never does it during the day, eats, drinks, and goes to the bathroom normal, and acts as he is in no pain. His abdomen does feel a little tight, but it doesn't seem to hurt if I touch it. He is, other than this morning issue, his normal bouncy self. I have not decided if I am/should be worried about this or if I should just let it play out.... Any ideas/suggestions?

I remember some time back that a few other people had dogs doing this late at night. It was suggested that it had something to do with them having an empty stomach. I would recommend trying to feed him later at night, or maybe give him a bland snack before bedtime that won't upset his stomach just so he has something in there in the morning.
 
As Ashley said, that's usually exactly what it is. We've had dogs who were early morning gurkers too. If you give Berkley a biscuit or two, or even a few kibbles of food, just before bed that may solve the problem. Or if you can give him a cookie when he first gets up that should do the trick.
 
Snack

Well, I just made Berkley some oatmeal peanutbutter biscuits for a bedtime snack tonight. That should do the trick! :yes:
 
My vet suggested we give Danny a little something to eat at night. He does the same with his dog. It keeps stomach acid down I think.
