This evening at 6:24 PM I held my beloved Chandler as he made his journey to Rainbow Bridge and was greeted by his sister Lacey and my other Sheltie Buddy. I wrote Lacey ahead of time to prepare her for Chandler's journey.
Dear Lacey,
It's been four years since I've seen you,
I miss you oh so much.
Your smiling face and wagging tail,
the fur I loved to touch.
I'm writing you to tell you,
Our Chandler isn't well.
This year's been tough,he's been so sick,
it's time now I can tell.
Today I'm going to free him,
of all his earthly pain.
I'll send him on to Rainbow Bridge,
to be with you again.
So Lacey, when you hear that bark,
familiar to your ears.
Look towards the Bridge you'll see the boy,
that we both hold so Dear.
It soothes my heart just knowing,
that you'll be there for him.
Just like Buddy was there for you,
when you came prancing in.
So run and play amongst the fields,
and hold eachother near.
Because someday from across the Bridge.
it's my voice that you'll hear.
