My groomer shaved my Sheltie!!!!!

We started to get our girls trimmed shorter (still have long coat just trimmed down a bit) for the summer about a year ago. Angel turned 3 in December and her coat is so thick that sometimes it is hard to get the comb through it. It now grows so long that it touches the floor and she has actually tripped on it. She was 9 months old when we got her from the rescue and she had never been groomed. Her coat was thin but shiny. I had no idea how thick her coat would become over the years. Our groomer sits down with us before she does any grooming and we go over specifics.
 
How long until the end of her tail grew back

I had a groomer do that to Gypsy last fall and it still has not grown back and as you can see in her pics they also chopped the heck out of her front collar. It's really depressing when they do this to our beautiful babies.
 
I am so sorry that happened to your furkid. Glad you received a refund, and you should of asked if you could cut the groomer's head.

Callie's tail was pretty much back to normal in about 1-2 months. That was some time ago and she has never been back. I've brushed her and given her all her baths since then.

I can believe it. :yes: Despite my efforts my family thinks shelties only come in three colors: sable, tri, and blue merle. I can't get them to understand what bi black and bi blue are. "It's a TRI. Like Fluffy!" No, Mom. It's a bi black. Fluffy has tan markings. Tri = three. Bi black are black and white. Like a skunk. :biggrin2: (Harharhar. Don't get mad at the skunk comment.)


I'm not going to attempt the sable merle explanation. :uhoh:

My family was also unaware that rough collies came in more than one color (sable). :lol:

WoW now I'm worried since Gypsy's hasn't grown back yet. She basically cut most of the white tip off. The vet tech shaved the front of her neck and some of her chest to draw blood when she had her surgery a couple months ago and that hasn't come back either but where they shaved her back to remove a lump has. Which I think is odd.
 
Indy's belly is still taking a long time as well, since his stomach surgery. It's been a couple of months and it's probably about 1/2 inch long now and prickly as a pear. Though, I guess its keeping him cool this summer.
 
Emma has just had her fur grow back in pretty much after her echocardiogram in March and then she was shaved on the belly in April for the spay. She is still growing that in, although it is pretty much back.
