my puppy is scared of outside

if he goes outside he gets very scared, shaking and not eating any of his favorite treats. We took him out today again and he was ok at first but got scared and starts shaking, then he vomited twice. I was worried that he might ate something during the day (in the morning) but all the stuff he vomits are the orijin puppy food he ate at around 7pm.

should i be worried? was he vomiting because he's scared?

anxiety can bring on nausea and vomiting. Poor little guy. I wonder if something scared him out there? Is there a lot of noise? Have you tried praising and treating him for being outside? Or playing with him to distract him and make him really enjoy being out there?

Thanks for the advice. He's just always been a scared puppy. When we got him at the first place, he was so scared in our place that he sat at one spot looking at us and shaking for 1 hour. When we took him to vets for vaccines, he was also scaried and shaking the entire time.

He was actually a bit better after he vomits and starts walking around and following strangers(which we really think is weird).

We'll try take him out again but only for a small amount of time.

How old is your pup ? Where did you get him/her ? When you brought the pup to the vet I'm assuming he/she got a clean bill of health . How long have you had the pup ? I'm not trying to be nosy just trying to figure things out.:yes: But the way you say after the pup vomits its food , orijin, then seems fine and tries to follow people, sounds like it might be the food. And the nervousness is because the pup is feeling queezy from the food. Try switching to another high quality food like Merrick, for sensitive stomachs or any other that have no by-products, fillers.:eek2: The first ingredient should be real human grade food. You may also want to try placing the pup on cooked rice with chicken for awhile and give the pup some live cultured yogurt to help settle the tummy. Let us know how the pup is doing.:wink2:

This forum has helped me out so much. I adore this breed as I know everyone here does. I think we all help out with great advise and that we all contribute. I appreciate your compliment Chris !:yes:
 
According to the Vet our puppy is perfectly healthy. We had him for 2 weeks, and we got him from a breeder.
he seems to enjoy orijin, and he seems to be fine at home. We are now suspecting its the noise outside that made him nervous.
Maybe we overfeed him?
 
If you've had in on Orijen the entire 2 weeks, and he has loose stools or diarrhea, then you are probably feeding him too much. If the noise is what he's afraid of, then go outside and record the noise. Lower the volume on the player very low and play it to him when he is not scared. Then slowly up the volume as he gets used to it. Once he can handle the volume turned up to normal, he should be ready to go outside. Do not give him too much attention when he is afraid, or he will think it's a good idea to be afraid. I'm sure Elaine advice will help, if he has a nervous stomach.
 
Also check your pup is chewing his kibble - is it coming up in full pieces (albeit a little soaked from being swallowed). If it is you need to get your pup to slow down his eating.

It takes a while for them to get familar with their environment so I wouldnt worry too much. When you take him outside can you make a little enclosed area so it doesn't look like a huge scary place. Can you also put him somewhere where he can watch and then you go outside and act like you are having a really great time.

How old is the pup? From 8-11 weeks is usually their first fear period. Often the fears they develop during this period can last. When I got Deska I was falling over a lot from serious vertigo and kept falling over the puppy fence. 2 yrs on he is still scared of metal clanking and panics if he thinks someone is going to fall. So during this time always make a puppy's life as much fun as possible.
