My Sheltie Candy

Candy is Butch's sister and she is 10 1/2 years old. She has had an ACL since she was 2 years old. One surgery failed and afraid to try another. We have been treating her with Adequan injections and Metacam. Since the adequan only lasted three weeks my vet tried depo medrol which gave her a bad reaction. Her blood pressure soared which then gave her nosebleeds. Her vet put her on high blood pressure medicine and lasik (spelling) but since that injection she refuses to walk on all fours. It scares me to death. Does anyone know how long it will take for this injection to wear off. Still crying over Butch and I certainly do not need this stress with my girl. I need someone to tell me something good so I can get some sleep. I have to carry her in and out to pee because she won't walk far. Please help me again. I'm not ready for her to join Butch.

I'm sorry Amelia, I don't have any experience with this particular problem and can offer you no help, I just wanted you to know that I will keep Candy in my prayers for a speedy recovery. :fl

Amelia, wish I had some constructive suggestions, but am not familiar with depo Medrol and side effects. Hopefully your vet can answer your concerns. I am so very sorry you are going through this with your little lass and I hope something can be found to give her (and you) comfort.

Sorry to hear that you are having to go through all of this with Candy.

Keeping both of you in my prayers. Please update us when you can. Thanks.

ps Please give Candy a gentle hug from me.

Hope that Candy gets well soon....

Ask the vet if it's normal that reaction and how long it takes to turn to normality...

Just give Candy your sweet care and attentions...and do the best you can.

Hugs for you and Candy :hugs
