Oh dear! That is too adorable, how small their heads look when they don't have all that hair fooling you!
Anyway, I think your boy looks great, and as was mentioned earlier, on the plus side, this should really help getting topicals on the skin. This summer Honey either got attacked by an ant colony, or laid in something that caused an allergic reaction. I grabbed the scissors and cut her stomach down as short as I could. It made a world of difference.
We always battle her scratching and biting until she's raw because of her allergies, but this year having the fur gone and being able to reach the skin and get a good coating on it with the lotions and shampoos, we didn't have any skin issues on her stomach.
And by fall it had all grown back so she was protected for winter.
WOW!!! You're correct, he's still a great looking dog, but I would be livid! Unless there was truly some therapeutic reason for the cut, it goes without saying that the groomer involved would NEVER - EVER get his/her hands on my pup again. I wouldn't calm down until he was at least nearly back to normal.
